We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Project Engineer to join our team!

Position Description:

As a Project Engineer you will be our point of contact to clients and execute design, commissioning, technical support and project management services for building automation controls projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct the project preplanning process, accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects, develop schedules, anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks. And collaborate with project team to proactively resolve problems; sets objectives and goals with specific measures
  • Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes.
  • Proactively monitor costs and react to variations quickly; monitor labor reporting system to effectively control productivity; schedule subcontractors; escalate problems to management. Evaluate scope changes, additional work orders and the client’s needs
  • Communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form.
  • Demonstrate ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for creating & downloading programming, start up, functional testing, and troubleshooting on assigned projects.
  • Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer's location.
  • Coordinates with project team, and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site programming, installation, and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
  • Uses cutting edge software and technology, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to create a fully functional system. 
  • Continually enforces safety to the highest standards.
  • Independently manages daily business needs by identifying labor and equipment needs for project completion and determines the urgency of the requirement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have at least 2 years technical education and/or field related experience
  • Building Automation systems experience a plus
  • LON and BACNet communication experience a huge plus
  • Computer knowledge
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Understanding of HVAC and IT systems
  • Great communication skills
